SIAMS
Encourage one another and build each other up - 1 Thessalonians 5: 11
This quote from the Bible, was chosen in consultation with Reverend Louise (St. Barnabas Church), staff, children and governors. It was chosen for its message to all to think of others, to help and to encourage them. St Barnabas, whom our school was originally named after, is known for being an encourager, for believing in, and looking for the best, in others. We believe this to be an important message and value to teach our youngest children, who attend Bradwell CE Infant School.

St. Barnabas
Christian Distinctiveness
As a Church of England Infant School, we are proud of our continuing mission to serve the youngest children of Bradwell. Our journey as a Church School began in 1872.
Our History
The school was built in 1872. It was known as St.Barnabas C of E School.
Samuel Fiske opened the school and was the Headmaster. He admitted 59 children, whose ages ranged from 3 - 14 years. He recorded in the log book that attendance was affected by children assiting their parents in the hay fields. The vicar, Reverend Webb helped daily with the teaching of Scripture. Not all children in the village attended school because education had to be paid for. The first inspectors of the school in 1873 reported that, "...the progress of the chidlren was satisfactory, but more time should be given to needlework."
St.Barnabas C of E School became Bradwell C of E Infant School in the early 1980's.
Vision and Values
Our school vision is 'Kindness, Connection and Aspiration'
Our mission is, "Encourage one another and build each other up", taken from 1 Thessalonians 5: 11. St.Barnabas was an encourager, believing in others and giving people a second chance.
Through our vision and mission, we aim to help all children to;
- Be kind
- Be a good friend
- Be ready
- Be respectful
- Be safe
- Be hardworking
Collective Worship
We gather together every daily for Collective Worship, where we have a Christian theme, which lasts for two weeks. We read stories from the Bible, relating to the theme for the week and we discuss ways we can demonstrate it at school, in the community and at home.

Local Church links
We have a good relationship with St.Barnabas Church and we are lucky enough to be situated next door to it, enabling us to use the space for Celebration Worship each Friday, as well as for services, such as Harvest, Christingle, Nativity, Easter, St.Barnabas Day and our end of year assembly in July.
